Just a little fly by humour courtesy of a friend. 🤣. These flies however, are NOT 🚫 our friends.

Please note, no flies were harmed during this photo shoot, but all flies need to just die already!

Shout out to Brian for assisting me when I was having an issue with my boat and letting me dock for a bit while Sea Tow got me straightened out. Thanks again.

Good job guys …..

🎣 Bay Report: Success! 🐟
Bob and Lisa McGinnis found out the fluke were in a very cooperative mood! They headed out from Captain Mike’s Marina and returned with a pair of beautiful keepers and smiles that say it all.
Some people tell fish stories… Bob and Lisa just hold them up for the camera. 😄
Congratulations on a great day on the bay! Thanks for sharing your catch, and we can’t wait to see who’s reeling in the next doormat! 🌊🎣

It was always known as "the fish factory" as long as I can remember and that's from the '60's to this day

I thought it was a greenhead factory. 🪰

You can probably still see it from 7 bridges

The Stink House. As a kid growing up in Barnegat I remember the trains running north full of fertilizer.

When it was operational it was common to call it the stink house. My grandfather had a house on the bay in Beach Haven. There was no explanation needed when we had a Southern wind.

Made chum I think

Heard there were many dangerous whirlpools out there be careful

Clear day you can see it from Oyster Creek restaurant.

Wanted to visit that place

Could someone show where this was on the bay?

Good fishing

The old Stinky

Awesome – I just photographed and posted about this last week!

Gene & i used to go out by there to fish boy I miss that part of our relationship.

Where can you see this ? Love to be up closer to read it….

Justin Halt

Cool!

Data center inbound lol

Thanks John , that’s cool

🎣 Another great day on the water at Captain Mike’s Marina! 🌊🦀
Nick and his fishing partner took one of our rental boats out today and came back with 2 keeper fluke and about 10 beautiful blue crabs!
Looks like dinner is officially covered… and tomorrow’s lunch might be too! 😄
Nothing beats a day on the bay with tight lines, full crab baskets, and plenty of smiles.
Ready to make your own fishing story? Stop by Captain Mike’s Marina in Little Egg Harbor and rent a boat. The fluke are biting, the crabs are crawling, and the next photo could be yours! 🎣🦀🚤

Fluke season kicked off today 5/2 and will run through 9/27.

The 2022 fluke season opened with a bang at Captain Mikes this Monday. Gino, Justin, Jalen, Derek and Alainna racked up 11 fish in total (shown above).

Other rental and slip customers reported limiting out on flounder, mainly fishing in the back bay. One angler was targeting fluke and ended up catching a 30lb bass in 3 foot of water!

It’s safe to say the season opener for fluke was not only productive but eventful too.

In case you missed it, for the first time in New Jersey fluke fishing history a slot limit was added. Here’s what else changed since last season:

  • Two fish slot between 17-17.99 inches
  • One fish 18 inches or greater
  • Season opens Monday May 2nd
  • Season closes Tuesday September 27th

Many anglers were up in arms over the recent changes in regulations. While it’s impossible to appeal to every angler, the change in regulations seem to favor the back bay angler opposed to ocean based anglers.

Apparently these changes won’t be a problem for those fishing the Great Bay. The weather forecast is providing plenty of windows in the next ten days.

Give us a call at (609) 296-4406 to book your rental boat and let’s go fishing!
